Helps state Medicaid agencies and health plans improve care for vulnerable populations, increase financial sustainability, and enable budget resiliency for stakeholders

Brian is one of the leaders of our Medicaid and state health and human services work. He leads our work with state Medicaid agencies on managed care strategy, procurement, contracting and performance management. He has also served states on Medicaid budget resiliency and strategies to improve care for populations with complex needs, including behavioral health, child welfare and long-term services and support. Brian also serves regional health plan clients with a focus on strategy, market entry and performance improvement in Medicaid, Medicare and dual-eligible products.

Brian’s recent work includes the following:

  • helping a state Medicaid agency expand and transform its managed care program through a comprehensive, statewide reprocurement effort,
  • developing a Medicaid transformation plan for a state, including a portfolio of initiatives to improve value and efficiency in the program while maintaining or improving coverage levels, quality and outcomes
  • defining the long-term strategy for a regional Medicaid and duals plan to increase its competitiveness and drive enrollment growth in an evolving competitive environment

Prior to his current role, Brian worked internationally in global public health and health systems strengthening at various organizations. He has also volunteered in business building roles for social enterprises focused on health and economic development across East Africa.
