Christian is a core leader of McKinsey’s Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice and leads our CFO and finance activities in Europe. He serves clients on a variety of CFO topics, including finance function target operating models, company and intellectual property rights (IPR) valuation, M&A and carve-outs, and CFO-led value improvement programs. Christian works in a wide range of industries, including automotive, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and manufacturing. In addition to his client work, Christian leads McKinsey’s global research on the future of the finance function.
Examples of Christian’s recent client work include:
- supporting a CFO-led holistic multiyear transformation program for a global automotive supplier, from identifying the overall financial potential to full implementation of specific transformation initiatives
- designing target operating models for multiple finance functions, including a customer-centric finance function for a global medical products player, an optimized planning and budgeting process for a global automotive OEM, and a global shared-service finance model for a global automotive supplier
- helping lead the strategic assessment, due diligence, and valuation for a multibillion-dollar merger of automotive suppliers
- developing licensing-out strategies for non-core intellectual property and IPR for a global electronics company
Christian holds a doctoral degree in finance and IP valuation and licensing strategies. Before joining McKinsey, he held various finance, IP, and M&A roles at Siemens.
