McKinsey Canada is at the forefront of global work to harness the power of AI to deliver public benefits. To help draw business, economy, and employment to Montréal, in 2018, McKinsey launched North America’s QuantumBlack hub in the McKinsey Montréal office, allowing us to bring leading AI practices and solutions to Canadian clients to help improve their performance and create new job opportunities. The hub continues to expand so we can serve more Canadian companies with AI solutions while further developing Montréal’s AI innovation and talent. By 2020, AI had become an important driver of job creation in Quebec, with more than 19,400 people working in jobs directly related to the sector. In Montréal alone, more than 95,000 jobs are indirectly linked to AI and generating $625 million in economic value creation, contributing an additional $385 million to GDP.
