I have always dreamt of creating a healthier world. It saddens me to know people around the world still die from treatable diseases only because they don’t have access to quality care. I would love to help change that.
Joining McKinsey as a healthcare knowledge analyst helps me pursue my dream. We work with public and private sector clients to improve healthcare within the communities they serve. This ranges from creating a more sustainable way for a country to finance healthcare to helping hospitals improve their daily operations.
In my role, I get to do different types of projects within healthcare; in each, I play a different role and develop new set of skills. In one project, we helped our clients implement a fiscal optimization strategy. I went to the client site every day to work with them. The appreciation and gratitude I received for coaching them filled my heart with joy. In another project, my role was analytical. I assessed the supply–demand gap in healthcare services to identify the pain points. This work helped my family, friends and others live healthier lives.
Also, my McKinsey colleagues are amazing. They are really motivated and supportive. It feels like I have a global family. If I have a question related to healthcare systems around the world, I can call very intelligent, knowledgeable and cooperative people to help me solve the problem.
Overall, I cannot think of a better place to be. I am adding value using my industry knowledge, learning something new every day, meeting amazing people, and delivering meaningful impact.
