You will work either in our Japan office (either Tokyo or Osaka) as part of the Electric Power/Natural Gas service line of the Global Energy & Materials (GEM) practice in the Asia Pacific region.
The mission of this practice is to deliver holistic impact to our clients as their high-level thought partner. You will collaborate with colleagues to help leading organizations solve their most complex problems. Your role as an associate will be to help clients in both consumer and business-to-business environments on a wide variety of topics.

You will work in teams of typically 3 – 5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement.
This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.
You will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams. You will also receive close guidance and support from your local office or practice in the selection of client projects, helping you to develop your skills and build your network.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably with a major related to electric power or natural gas
- 5+ years of highly relevant experience in the electric power/natural gas industry
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in Japanese and English
- Deep expertise in the energy industry, as well as solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to, strategy and business development
- Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project
- Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
