Your Impact

You will support McKinsey consultants and clients by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information that helps solve specific business problems.  
Your particular area of focus and expertise will mainly be on Telecom & Consumer (Retail & CPG Topics) in Africa, but you may work on more generalized topics from time to time as well.
You will assemble a fact base, counsel consultants and clients on the scope of business and trends surrounding the issue and provide insights and analysis for solving client problems at hand.
You will leverage your  industry experience to be a thought-partner to client teams and clients to prioritize research activities which will have the most impact.  
Additionally, you will be able to codify knowledge and help support the continuous improvement of our knowledge operations and infrastructure, innovating firm knowledge and knowledge delivery through special projects (both with client teams and on a stand-alone basis).

Your Growth

You’ll work in the Casablanca office in Morocco and will be a part of our Client Capabilities Network (CCN). Your direct team will be the Africa Geographic Insights team with members across the continent. You will also collaborate with the broader team of Telecoms experts (~60 people) based across the globe.
Our global CCN, which includes more than 2500 knowledge professionals, work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a sciences or engineering background; master's degree is a plus
  • Preferably at least 2 years of post-undergraduate work experience in the telecom or retail industry
  • Understanding or any experience in business research, economic models, etc.
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications or retail space in Africa, especially trends, competitive landscape and key players related to the industry
  • Highly curious and creative team member who has strong inter-personal skills and the ability to have influence and impact in their work
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French
  • Solid understanding of financial, economic, and general business concepts and terminology
  • Ability to accomplish work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, including rapid problem solving with teams, either in person or on the phone
  • Professional attitude, work standards, and service orientation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required; advanced software knowledge (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) is a plus
  • Demonstrated research experience in an academic or business setting is preferred
