Do you want to do work that matters, alongside supportive leaders who will help you grow faster than you ever thought possible? Are you a creative problem-solver who is energized by challenges? You’ve come to the right place.

Who You'll Work With

Are you excited about enabling our partners and CSP colleagues to maximize their impact on clients and the financial services industry through convening? Do you have a knack for project management, and attention to detail, and want to be part of a Marketing and Communications FSPH event’s team focused on adding value? We are looking for a specialist-level colleague who is up for making an outsize difference in a tight-knit team who advise and help shape more than 100 events a year (McKinsey-owned and 3rd Party) across the global Banking and Insurance practices.
This role is a great opportunity to learn about a new industry, own multiple end-to-end projects, and develop events coordination and management skills with a truly global Powerhouse team serving some of the firm’s biggest, most active and diverse industry practices.

Your impact within our firm

You will build awareness of McKinsey’s capabilities, knowledge, and assets through convening. You will help protect McKinsey’s reputation with advice and guidance and expertise and contribute to bringing events to life and tracking them to build a more thoughtful events strategy for the banking and insurance practices. You will play a critical role in building the reputation, capabilities and perception of value of the team’s efforts to CSP colleagues when it comes to events.
You will help assess all new events proposed by CSP colleagues from Insurance and Banking regions and subsectors to ensure firm and ‘financial services’ best practice, high client impact, format type, and value for money. You will also liaise where appropriate with other powerhouses and the Centre for Events and Partnerships (CeNP).
You will lead the FSPH team on post-event impact tracking, helping CSP colleagues record the impact and ROI of our global convening program (to include data collection and collation of relevant metrics e.g. attendees numbers, percentage of COM list targets in attendance, satisfaction rates, client development metrics, return on investment, client activation programs) recording this in our systems and creating accurate and timely reporting for the practice and leaders on a regular basis. You will be responsible for a 3rd party events strategy, ensuring our practices are present at the leading, highest impact events around the world, and to include helping assess the value for money of existing and longstanding 3rd party event involvement.
You will also support complex projects independently, alongside the Powerhouse events lead, aligning with key stakeholders as relevant and representing the FSPH on steering committees as necessary. You will help draft, refine and check events-related communications as appropriate.
You will also be the main point of liaison with Client Activation Management teams related to different events and also the CRM team for the coordination of event invitations and information and you will be responsible for gathering intelligence on competitor events investment and presence.
You will liaise with the media team for events-related media relations and opportunities and with the social media team for events promotion and marketing.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s/university degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in a business communications-related field, a benefit if in a professional services environment, corporate communications role, government, or communications agency background
