Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Gurugram office as part of McKinsey’s Finance Group Controllership.
Group Controllership Team is responsible for maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies in external and internal management reporting. The group also provides support to accounting managers, firm operations and firm leadership and works collaboratively with many different teams (Treasury, Pricing, M&A, Legal, Risk & Insurance, Real Estate, Tax, etc.) around the firm.

Your impact within our firm

You will play a pivotal role in implementing CSRD reporting requirements and the EU Taxonomy, with a particular focus on finance-related metrics. You will develop the necessary capabilities, including processes, internal controls, and systems, to meet all mandatory environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting requirements globally.  
You will possess extensive knowledge of global regulatory ESG reporting requirements with specific expertise in European standards such as CSRD and EU taxonomy. You will focus on defining, developing and ensuring compliance with ESG reporting requirements. You will be capable of offering thought leadership to guide the firm through the changing ESG environment.
You will have significant expertise in regulatory reporting and internal controls, as well as in developing and enhancing scalable processes to address current and future challenges. You will be instrumental in integrating sustainability considerations into our financial practices and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will collaborate with various teams (Global Social Responsibility, Legal, external advisors, SGP) to ensure seamless coordination and readiness to meet our ESG regulatory reporting obligations.
You will conduct consolidation and reporting of the financial metrices for external reporting and serve as a knowledgeable advisor on the firm's evolving ESG reporting framework, ensuring compliance with current and future requirements, and assess the applicability of new global regulations at both the firm and legal entity levels.
You will establish a robust reporting process for generating mandatory firm and entity-level ESG reports, such as those required under CSRD and the EU Taxonomy; facilitate the link between Finance and sustainability to foster cross-functional partnerships with stakeholders in GSR, Legal, HR, Real Estate, and Controllership.
You will develop and operationalize standardized policies and processes for sustainability reporting, including materiality assessments, disclosure controls and procedures, and estimation approaches; facilitate the audit process and assurance of ESG reporting, where required.
You will work with various data provider teams to gather the data needed to support mandatory ESG disclosures; drive and ensure execution of ad hoc initiatives and participation in projects.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; master's/MBA preferred; Big 4 exposure is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with a focus on sustainability-related topics such as ESG, CSRD and EU Taxonomy
  • Strong understanding of CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and other sustainability-related regulations
  • Strong understanding of general accounting concepts with an ability to perform technical accounting research, in particular, business combination accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating sustainability considerations into financial practices
  • Computer literacy including strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Experience in managing projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Team player, flexible, and ability to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; ability to perform well under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
