Who You'll Work With

You will be part of Korea Finance team under Firm controllership.
Firm Controllership is responsible for maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP, developing and maintaining the finance policies, managing financial risk for the firm, accounting and integration of firm systems, adhering to external and internal reporting requirements and spearheading various transformation projects with broader finance function.
The group also provides support to accounting managers, firm operations and firm leadership and works collaboratively with many different teams (Treasury, Pricing, M&A, Legal, Risk & Insurance, Real Estate, Tax, etc.) around the firm.

Your impact within our firm

You will play a specialist role in the Korea office finance team, report to Finance manager.  
You will oversee and manage monthly, quarterly and yearly activities within the Korea office finance team, various office-level monthly and quarterly journal entries, monthly analyses/reports/account reconciliations, accounting policy compliance, assistance in the preparation of GAAP financial statements and accounting for firm’s innovative arrangement with clients and month end activities. You will also be responsible for execution, and oversight of integration activities and support of accounting operations for the team. 
You will play a lead role in our Finance team, researching various technical accounting matters and assisting with the continuous improvement of firm accounting policies. You will prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations and external consolidated GAAP financial statements. You’ll have the opportunity to maintain close interactions with other finance community (e.g., global client finance team) and respond to questions from stakeholders. You will also be responsible to review monthly withholding tax payment, quarterly VAT reconciliation as well as GL reconciliation with Global Ops. You will lead the coordination of both internal and external audit requests, as well as perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested by office/finance leadership. 

Your qualifications and skills

  • Computer literacy including strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access
  • Good understanding of general accounting concepts with an ability to perform technical accounting research
  • Excellent organizational ability and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; ability to perform well under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent team skills and customer service attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Accounting or finance degree; CPA or CA required
  • 7+ years of accounting or finance experience preferably in a reputed corporate or Big 4 audit and tax consulting firm
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel; MS Access a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Financials (Project Accounting) a plus
  • Broad tax knowledge including VAT, Individual, Corporate tax
