Your Impact

As an Office Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our Office Services team, supporting our real estate strategy, and shaping the future of our office workspace. This hands-on leadership position will enable you to contribute to creating a dynamic and collaborative work environment that fosters innovation in customer support.  
Your responsibilities will include managing space occupancy, office refurbishment, annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), vendor and contract management, and ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the physical office. You will oversee security, food services, reception, visitors, parking, transportation, supplies, emergency response, compliance, landlord interactions, and event support.
You will liaise with outsourced building services, such as janitorial, security, transport, and property management, and oversee room and space management for the office, working with location service line leaders and aligning with location, regional, and global leadership. Forecasting space requirements to support changes in space and lease negotiations will be part of your role, as well as playing a key role in risk mitigation and ensuring disaster and business continuity, in conjunction with firm and location leadership.

Your Growth

You'll work in the McKinsey Global Capability and Services (MGCS) office in Bengaluru, which comprises ~1,000 colleagues across various functions, including IT, human resources, and various business units/service lines. In this role, you'll oversee the Office Services team (Workplace services) while collaborating closely with our Global Real Estate team, Procurement, Firm Security, Human Resources, IT, Office Services teams in MGCS locations in Chennai and Gurugram, and an array of service line and location-based leadership as your key stakeholders. Leading and developing a high-performing Office Services team of 6 FTEs, you will foster a customer service mindset and a continuous improvement approach, coaching and developing team members to collaborate and deliver high performance while ensuring high-quality learning opportunities for all. 
You will lead ongoing community-building efforts, such as corporate social responsibility, DEI, and office community groups, and organize and oversee large, sitewide events, social, and other connectivity-based efforts for location-based colleagues, collaborating across service lines. This role offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact on our office environment and community while developing your leadership skills and contributing to our organizational success.
Additionally, you will manage the operating budget and reporting for the location, working closely with the Director of Operations and the Global Finance team.

Your qualifications and skills

  • A Diploma/ graduate with a specialization preferably in hotel management
  • A total of 15-20 years of experience in Office Services, Workplace Services, Facilities, or Real Estate leadership, ideally in a shared or professional services environment.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in leading a high-performing team with strong people development skills; able to create an environment that brings out the best in colleagues.
  • Analytical Mindset and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex situations, identify challenges, and implement effective solutions to support the team in achieving operational excellence.
  • Passion for Continuous Improvement and Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrated enthusiasm for driving process improvements and fostering a customer-focused culture within the team; experience with Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Tools and Technology: Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, for report management and trend analysis. Familiarity with tools such as MoveInSync, PowerBI, Qualtrics, Tableau, and Miro is highly desirable to enhance team efficiency.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage projects effectively, including tracking performance through KPIs and developing SOPs to ensure clarity, consistency, and successful outcomes.
  • Experience with External Resources: Prior experience in managing external workers or third-party resources, ensuring alignment with team objectives and seamless collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Compliance Standards: Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and standards to ensure the team operates safely and competently.
  • Proficiency in the local language is required
