Advises automotive manufacturers and suppliers, construction equipment makers, and other industrial producers as they improve global operations, drive performance improvement, and seek growth opportunities

Philipp leads the Global Operations Practice and leads the Operations Practice in Western Europe. After launching his consulting career in Germany, Philipp spent six years in the Tokyo Office where he directed our work with automotive sector clients across the Asia Pacific region. He returned to Germany in 2012.

Drawing on this cross-regional experience, Philipp helps global companies improve their worldwide operations. He has led material cost optimization programs in almost every part of the world—including Europe, the US, Japan, China, India, and Brazil—and has directed logistics and supply chain optimization efforts on a vast scale.

Philipp has a nuanced perspective on the operational challenges faced by companies that manufacture industrial products and equipment. As an advisor to automotive manufacturers and suppliers, he directs transformation programs that result in lasting change. His expertise applies equally to construction equipment makers and other industrial companies, where he brings experience in product development, supply chain operations, and service operations to help boost performance. Beyond operations, he advises on sales force improvement, marketing, and strategy, helping clients expand their global footprint and enter new markets.

Examples of his recent work include:

  • advising on programs to optimize overhead costs and reduce material costs for an automotive company
  • directing projects to set new product development strategy and redesign production networks for several automotive companies
  • defining a carbon abatement strategy for a client in the road transportation sector
  • developing a quality gate system for an automotive sector company
  • advising on sales outlet optimization and sales force effectiveness for commercial vehicles, addressing sales in multiple regions

Philipp speaks frequently at industry conferences. Keenly interested in the future of the automotive sector, he contributes insights on the potential impact of powertrain technologies, electric vehicles, and clean technology. He has published several articles on these topics.
