Many fathers, and parents more broadly, spend most of their days at work, whether virtually or in person. It’s no wonder then that the workplace can play a significant role in their physical, mental, social, and spiritual health—or their holistic health. According to the McKinsey Health Institute’s (MHI) recent survey, while burnout and holistic health can coexist, employees who had positive work experiences reported better holistic health, are more innovative at work, and have improved job performance. And employees who find meaning in their work and feel they can raise new ideas or objections with their coworkers are more likely to feel they are in better health across all dimensions, say McKinsey’s Drew Ungerman and coauthors.
