McKinsey Finland offers several career opportunities for current students and recent graduates.
We welcome applications from students at undergraduate, masters, and PhD levels from all universities and degree programs both in, and outside of Finland. Finnish language skills are not required in our Helsinki office; however, we do require applicants have an excellent command of both written and verbal English.
To apply, you will need to submit your CV, a cover letter, as well as your university and high school transcripts. In addition to listing your academic achievements in your CV, please detail your extracurricular interests, such as voluntary work, sporting achievements, musical accomplishments, and entrepreneurial activities. You should also note any part-time work or internships you have previously taken part in or are currently involved with.
Internship
When you join us as an intern, you will work alongside consultants on a variety of business challenges and client projects over a six-to-eight week period.
Your internship experience will be representative of a full-time role at McKinsey. You will be responsible for numerous contributions and workstreams, such as gathering and analyzing information, preparing client presentations, helping solve critical issues, preparing proposals and communications, and presenting findings to senior client executives. Tenured colleagues will provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching, and will give you a sense of McKinsey’s people, values, and culture.
Depending on client project availability and your personal preferences, you may have the chance to work abroad on an international team. We do our best to personalize each internship to fit the intern’s interests.
We want you to walk away feeling your internship was as positive an experience as possible, where you learned many new skills and gained exposure to the impactful client work we do. Our hope is that you will return after graduation and join our Helsinki office on a full-time basis.

The minimum requirement to apply for an internship is 80 completed ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits or the equivalent. Completion of your bachelor's degree is not required to apply. The timing of your internship is flexible, and most interns join us in spring, fall, or winter. We will mutually agree on a suitable start date with those candidates who receive an offer to join.
Fellow Intern
Our internship programs are intended for students at undergraduate, masters, and PhD levels with at least 80 credits. Students joining us as interns will spend 6-8 weeks working as integral members of client-service teams and getting the same experience as a new full-time consultant.
Digital Intern
Our Digital Internship is intended for students at undergraduate, masters, and PhD levels with at least 80 credits. Joining McKinsey Digital will give you priority in selecting and working on digital projects while still offering you exposure to the full generalist experience.
Business analyst (BA) program
Our business analyst (BA) program is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree and are ready to start their career. This is a full-time two-year program, after which, assuming strong performance, you may choose to pursue a master’s degree or MBA (with support from the firm) or be eligible to move into a more senior role.
Through this program, you’ll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. You will play an active role in all aspects of the client engagement, including gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. Business analysts receive exceptional formal and on-the-job training, as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams.

Full-time positions
These positions provide the depth and breadth of locations, client opportunities, professional development, and a supportive culture to help you strengthen your skills and broaden your horizons. You’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects with collaborative teams and engage with clients, all of which will offer you new perspectives and challenges.
While all consultants develop specialized knowledge and a focused program as they progress with McKinsey, most are initially very broad in their focus, meaning they do not need specific industry or functional expertise to be successful.

Business Analyst
Business Analysts join McKinsey for a two-year program after finishing a bachelor's degree.
Consultant
Consultants typically join McKinsey after finishing a master's degree. Generalist consultants will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of disciplines and have a willingness to learn and expand their knowledge across new industries or functions.
Associate
Associates typically join McKinsey after finishing an advanced degree or after more extensive work experience in their field.
