Akul’s recent client projects include the following:
- creating a vision and asset development strategy for multiple mixed-use real estate developments in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and South Korea. Each initiative incorporated multiple themes, including creative tourism, agritourism, logistics hubs, public parks, and central business districts
- supporting the ten-year growth transformation of a G20 capital city with a focus on sector strategies, fund raising, transformation governance, and urban planning strategies
- defining the building materials ESG strategy for a greenfield city development in the Middle East to reduce the built environment carbon footprint by up to 33 percent
- developing an end-to-end smart city use-case roadmap for a large Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian development
- outlining a digital-enabled sales and marketing strategy for a residential real estate developer in GCC, leading to expansion of sales in four new geographies
- curating the development and financing strategy for the first digital tech hub in Eastern Europe
Before joining McKinsey, Akul worked with Zoona Transactions Ltd, a mobile money fintech company in Southern Africa. He also worked with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, on an off-grid electric program in rural Eastern India.
