Leads McKinsey’s Operations Practice and the global energy and materials units in Latin America. Has directed several large transformations focusing on operational excellence, capability-building at scale, culture change, and strategy.

Camilo is a partner in McKinsey’s Santiago office and leads the Operations Practice and global energy and materials division in Latin America. He has worked in mining since 2015, supporting his clients in both the design and implementation of operating and management systems, as well as in the design and implementation of capability-building at-scale programs. He serves clients in different sectors: basic materials and mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, and energy.

Some of his recent client work includes the following:

  • managing the operational transformation for one of the biggest lithium conglomerates
  • leading the implementation and development of the remote center of operations of a mining client
  • heading the design and execution of new organizational structures in mining and lithium operations, in addition to leading capacity-development programs at scale and change management.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Camilo worked as a renewable energy development engineer. He is an expert in Lean/Shingo, change management, and capability building.
