Iñaki helps clients build robust real-estate capabilities through his depth of experience developing assets at different scales, from large mixed use communities to residential developments or individual commercial buildings.
Bringing more than 20 years of experience to McKinsey, Iñaki has held profit and loss responsibility for approximately 800,000 square-meters of development in a range of phases. This includes managing the full cycle of several commercial and residential assets—funding, land acquisition, design, construction, marketing, sales, and exit.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Iñaki served as head of real estate investment and development for Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), where he oversaw the economic turnaround of a highly sustainable 3.7 million square-meter masterplan that was not achieving the required profitability. He has directly spearheaded the development of large-scale commercial and residential products, including Siemens’s LEED Platinum headquarters in the Middle East.
Iñaki also held leadership roles at Hines and Acciona, managing in different roles a series of signature investments such as residential projects in Spain, retail in Mexico, and the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
