Lavkesh is a leader in McKinsey Technology’s work, helping companies in a range of industries undergo end-to-end, tech-enabled transformations. He is a founding member of McKinsey Digital Labs and leader of the firm’s agile and software-engineering excellence work. He is passionate about helping build and scale organizations with networks of empowered, high-performing teams that succeed through a culture of enabling individuals and teams to reach their full potential.
In his client work, Lavkesh focuses on using advanced analytics and new ways of working grounded in agile methods, design thinking, and robust talent strategy and management to create digital products and solutions and build sustainable capabilities. He helps companies in industries that include banking, healthcare, mining, oil and gas, and technology and software.
Examples of his recent client work include the following:
- leading an enterprise-wide analytics-and-agile transformation for a mining company to deliver up to 20 percent increased throughput, $1.5 billion in avoided capital expenditure, and 50 percent reduction in employee turnover
- set up a digital capability for an oil-and-gas industry company to build a scalable framework for launching multiple technology and product-innovation labs, growing the team to more than 100 members in 18 months and delivering potential value of $200 million
- built a new digital start-up for an industrial company, enabling a vision of using digital and analytics to build game-changing mining-industry solutions, and rapidly standing up a new business to unlock and capture a share of a $150 billion value pool
In addition to his client work, Lavkesh has also served as a leader of McKinsey’s firm capabilities, for example, building and scaling the firm’s digital-delivery hub in India to enable remote delivery of cutting-edge digital solutions both within the firm and for clients as well. He also led the digital enablement of McKinsey’s product incubator and established a new operating model for the firm’s product-engineering organization.
