Nick co-leads McKinsey’s advanced analytics and artificial intelligence work in insurance and helps life and health insurers build and launch new digital and analytics-powered products, solutions, and channels.

From his base in Toronto, he has worked with carriers in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa to launch innovative offerings to customers and advisors powered by new technologies–including several ecosystems-based businesses.

Examples of Nick’s recent client engagements include the following:

  • partnering with a large North American multiline carrier on an end-to-end analytics transformation across strategy, resource prioritization, talent/hiring, and use case execution delivering more than $100 million in impact across multiple business units
  • leading an analytics-focused distribution effectiveness program with a large US life & annuities writer across a range of use cases driving more than a $100 million increase in new business
  • led the development of AI-based underwriting and pricing models for a large North American carrier across all mortality and morbidity products that leveraged new forms and data, and substantially reduced the need for invasive testing

Nick often speaks on AI and advanced analytics at industry forums, including InsureTech Connect, LIMRA/LOMA Life Insurance Conference, Insurance-Canada.ca, and the American Council of Life Insurers.

Before joining McKinsey, Nick led the analytics and business intelligence team for a specialty life carrier in South Africa, designing life and disability products for people living with HIV and diabetes.
