Sanjay is a senior partner in McKinsey’s Houston office and global coleader of McKinsey Sustainability, helping leading investors and operators decarbonize their core businesses, develop new growth businesses, and invest in and scale new climate technologies.

Examples of Sanjay’s recent work include:

  • leading a multi-year partnership to build an ambitious technology-based carbon removal business
  • working with businesses along the hydrogen value chain to define end markets, identify buyers, and build growth strategies
  • due diligence of potential acquisitions of energy-transition assets by investors
  • evaluating green energy technologies for investors
  • building an inventory of carbon emissions and a decarbonization plan for the portfolio of a large global private equity investor
  • developing a long-term energy demand forecast for a large US city

Sanjay has previously served as the managing partner of McKinsey’s Houston Office and a leader in McKinsey’s Energy and Materials Practice. Prior to joining McKinsey, Sanjay worked as a private-equity investor at General Atlantic and for TechnoServe, a not-for-profit group focused on building agricultural businesses in the developing world. Sanjay also serves on the board of the Houston Zoo.
