Advises financial institutions across Southeast Asia and India on how to ignite growth, digitize operations, and manage for risk

Wajid is a core contributor to McKinsey’s Financial Services Practice in Asia. He works closely with financial institutions in Southeast Asia and India on issues related to strategy, risk, marketing, sales, and operations.

Wajid has deep expertise in architecting and executing multiyear business transformations. He has helped major financial-services companies—particularly in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore—grow and transform their institutions and become leaders both in their home markets and internationally. Recently, Wajid led a transformational-change program for a financial-services company in Indonesia.

He is also deeply committed to expanding access for small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) to financial services in emerging markets. For example, he helped a major Thai bank transform its business model to turbocharge the growth of loans to SMEs, worked with a private bank to set up a new SME business in Vietnam, and helped digitize SME lending operations for an Indonesian bank.

Beyond serving clients, Wajid plays an active role in McKinsey's knowledge creation on SME banking and performance transformation. He is also an avid sports fan, particularly soccer.
