Leads McKinsey’s thinking across a range of M&A topics, including how to flawlessly execute large and complex integrations, and is specially focused on commercial topics spanning revenue risk management, revenue synergies, and sales integration. Rui also founded and leads McKinsey’s myIMO solution and is responsible for all its client deployments.

Rui is a Partner in the M&A practice and has been involved in 200+ integrations. He personally led 15 large, global mergers.

  • Pre-close integration planning, Day 1 Readiness, and first 100-day roadmap for a >$13Bn merger in oil and gas
  • Pre-close commercial integration planning and execution for two Pan-American distribution companies, including full detail of customer account plans and complete redesign of sales organization for Day 1

Rui initially joined McKinsey in the Lisbon office after completing his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. He completed his MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University prior to joining McKinsey’s New York Office in 2009.
