Women’s Health
The McKinsey Health Institute (MHI) has collaborated with the World Economic Forum's Centre for Health and Healthcare to size the health and economic potential of investing in women's health globally. This collaboration explores four key root causes driving the women's health gap, the actions needed to tackle them, and how to measure progress effectively. The women's health gap is addressable - closing it could reduce the time women spend in poor health by almost two-thirds, and add at least $1 trillion to the economy annually by 2040. Forthcoming research will explore the 9 conditions that drive 40% of this economic opportunity.
These insights have paved the way for the launch of the World Economic Forum’s Global Alliance for Women’s Health, a coalition of leading global institutions committed to enabling healthier lives for the 3.9 billion women worldwide. Learn more here.
