Karim Aly is a partner in the firm’s Cairo office. Over the past 15 years, he has served government agencies and public-sector clients in the Middle East.

Karim is passionate about making change by supporting government agencies and public-sector clients on transformation and modernization programs. He has led several large-scale economic-development programs across the region with a focus on promoting economic growth, improving citizen wellbeing, and increasing private-sector participation.

Recent examples of his work include the following:

  • leading a large-scale program to transform the role of a governmental agency, streamline a national civil service, and optimize expenditures
  • advising a government agency on how to set up a wealth fund, including the development of the fund’s investment strategy, governance structure, and operating model
  • designing the strategic roadmap for a public-private partnership agency and identifying projects across key economic sectors for development
  • defining a comprehensive economic-stimulus package for a country by identifying investment opportunities and major infrastructure projects as well as associated legal, institutional, and social-reform initiatives

Karim is an Egyptian national and is fluent in Arabic, English, and German.
