Mona is a leader in the firm’s Public & Social Sector Practice where she advises public-sector clients on development, employment, social policies, and macroeconomic policies. She is also a geographical leader in the Middle East for the McKinsey Health Institute, a non-profit-generating entity within the firm that aspires to catalyze action to add 45 billion years of higher-quality life for all people around the world. She is committed to creating lasting economic growth through frameworks of strategic sustainable development.

Prior to joining McKinsey, she served as senior director at the office of strategic affairs in the Crown Prince Court Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Before that, Mona worked in the public sector at Booz & Company, and as an economist with the International Monetary Fund and the ESCWA. She has authored and coauthored three books and several papers, including a paper on the determinants of public-private partnerships.

Mona is a recipient of both the Princess Banderi Al-Faisal Public Service Fellowship and the Sheikh Abdulaziz A. Al-Tuwaijri International Public Service Fellowship. She is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a board member of Uniting to Combat NTDs, a coalition dedicated to fighting lesser-known tropical diseases.

Mona speaks Arabic, English, and French.
