Alexander is a partner in our Zurich office and a leader in our European Consumer Goods Practice. He serves leading global companies from the retail, consumer packaged goods, and apparel, fashion, and luxury goods sectors on topics involving business growth, organizational transformation, and digitization.
Alexander’s recent work with clients includes:
- advising a leading consumer-goods company on a large-scale transformation to create a more efficient and effective operating model and a more agile organization
- helping a luxury-goods company to define a growth strategy focused on identifying granular growth opportunities at a city level and developing route-to-market strategies to capture them
- supporting a sports retailer in developing a new category strategy to create a more structured and consumer-centric assortment and pricing approach
- working with a food and beverages company on a strategy to boost revenue growth by optimizing trade-term structures and promotion management on a global scale
- serving a leading luxury-goods player on a digital transformation of its frontline and back-office processes to build a more connected, collaborative, and automated operating model
Outside his client work, Alexander is a frequent contributor to McKinsey publications on the consumer goods industry. He also appears as a guest lecturer at several universities.
Before joining McKinsey, Alexander worked in investment banking and as an entrepreneur in a consumer healthcare start-up in Silicon Valley. He holds an MBA from the University of Stanford and an undergraduate degree in business and economics from the University of St Gallen.
