Helps public sector and tech suppliers develop digital services and modernize their IT

Mike was one of the early leaders in McKinsey’s Public Sector Practice in the UK, focusing on tech. Over the last ten years, he has served most of the major departments on issues including digital strategy, digital operating model, IT modernization, and large-scale program delivery.

Mike has first-hand experience with the pressures and complexities of delivering major IT services. He was McKinsey’s product lead in a consortium that built a critical national service that supports over >50,000 businesses. Within 12 weeks, the service was live with subsequent releases every 6–8 weeks, demonstrating an agile approach to major program delivery. This methodology received praise at senior levels of government for its ability to perform under intense pressure and being able to react to changing priorities.

Mike leads IT modernization support for both government and private sector clients, with a focus on enhancing cloud efficiency and IT resilience.

Mike has deep knowledge of many of the components that make up modern digital services, including IoT design and digital identity. As technology evolves, Mike remains at the forefront, helping clients explore the diverse applications enabled by these advancements.
