Despite a small decrease in 2023 to 21.4 percent of GDP compared to the previous year, Spain still has a significant level of industrial exports compared to prepandemic levels.
The government has bet on the internationalization of the economy, having defined a target of €400 million for 2027 (versus €384 million in 2023).
Of those exports (excluding agriculture and food and beverages), the largest components were motor vehicles (16 percent), followed by ores, slag, and ash (7 percent), and machinery and mechanical appliances (7 percent).
